Ms. Mwesigye Samantha is a highly experienced lawyer whose contribution to the nation has span a period of 12years. Ms. Mwesigye has offered legal advisory services as a Government lawyer in the Attorney General’s Chambers/Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs. In her service, she offered legal advisory services to government, negotiated large infrastructure projects, participated in the formulation of policies and laws, she was on a team that participated in the amendment of the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act and on committees that shaped rules on local content and inclusion of special interest groups such as women.
She has negotiated on trade issues in the EAC, COMESA and SADC. She is a professional governance practitioner and a part time lecturer at the Law Development Centre (A statutory institution with the professional legal training mandate).
Ms. Mwesigye whose contribution has impacted the nation and the regions on the African continent brings to UTAMU a great wealth of knowledge, experience and skill that will streamline, professionalise and grow the institution towards becoming the MIT of Africa.
Her inspiration to be part of the tech world at UTAMU is drawn from Dr. Carl Sagan who wrote “We have arranged a civilisation in which most crucial elements profoundly depend on science and technology”.
